pygmy owls often diurnally perch on large telephone wires at meadow and road edges in winter. PROBABLY THE SCENARIO HERE. PASTURE WITH TELEPHONE LINES on north side of road, MIXED CONIFER FOREST ON SOUTHSIDE OF ROAD. ANIMaL NOT PRESENT WHEN I CAME BY HERE at 1215 hours earlier today.
