On Friday, July 28, 2017, at 1130 hrs, Bighorn Institute received a report of a bighorn hit on Hwy 74 south of Palm Desert. Institute biologists immediately investigated and found an adult ram as he perished at 1140 hrs on the northwest side of the road above Vista Point near mile marker 86.23. The motorist involved in the accident did not stop.
