Animal (adult male) was killed between 1430 and 1500 hrs via vehicle collision in Grant Grove. Was collected by Tom Parrack, Grant Grove law enforcement ranger, and refrigerated by 1530 hrs. Findings from a gross necropsy conducted by the NPS Wildlife Health Branch in Ft. Collins, CO indicated 'The cause of death in this adult male fisher was that he was hit by a car. This animal was in good body condition and had been eating. Two types of parasites were found; a few Trichinella cysts in the tongue and skeletal muscle and sarcocysts of the small merozoite type. Both infections were considered to be mild.' Significant findings include the detection of bromadialone in the liver at 191 ppb, with the finding that 'this level along with appropriate clinical signs confirms poisoning by rodenticides.'
