Bird lying face down on right shoulder of freeway slow lane. Adjacent area dried grassy vacant hilly ranch land w/several large trees nearby. Manual check of bird (to confirm ID) showed possible broken neck, body seemed intact w/damage to head/eye socket. Large, beautiful bird....so very sad.
