Observation Date / Time

Paved but unlined city street. Several winding curves and blind hills passing through gray squirrel habitat (many oak and pine trees along adjacent hillsides). Also several seasonal creek beds. Mostly natural vegetation on residential parcels in surrounding neighborhoods. Many squirrels live(d) here; many killed on this road every year (average kills 12+ per year). Some drivers attempt to mimic Indy500 course and drive too fast. Also the large trees heavily shade the road in many places, making gray squirrels extremely difficult to see, even when driving carefully.
