Adult female. No barrier in median or at shoulder. Local habitat is fragmented coastal scrub, saltmarsh, and salt-water bay at San Leandro Marsh in between industrial areas. This is a melanistic specimen, largely black with only some limited white grizzling on the dorsal surface. The first melanistic Virginia Opossum I've ever seen. This project just keeps on giving.
