Habitat on N. side of road is a steep, rocky, grassy, slope with lots of thatch - the favored haitat for this species locally. The S. side is Russian River riparian. Guard rail on S. side where the bird was lying on the white line. Eyes dried and back of skull scavanged - probably hit yesterday (10 Nov).
