Observation Date / Time

Crushed with many tears in the skin. Length was 16.75 inches from the snout to the end of the rattles. Moderate vegetative coverage dominated by Atriplex hymenelytra (Desert holly), Larrea tridentata (Creosote), Psathyrotes ramosissima (Turtleback), and Erigonum inflatum (Desert trumpet). Weather: 25% cloud cover, 0-5 mph winds, 75 degrees Fahrenheit. There was still rain visible on the road from showers earlier that day. I did not witness this event. The snake was still warm with no signs of rigor mortis (warmer than the road surface).
