Adult, unsexed. 3' cement barrier at median, no barrier at shoulder, but this section of freeway is raised above surface street below. Local habitiat is urban neighborhoods & light industry/commercial. Kill was between Lake Merritt & SF Bay, but this species of waterbird is uncommon for this area, though frequently seen in SF Bay.
