First year male spike buck showing recent shed of spike antlers. Right side of road (where kill was) is a very steep slope right down to road. Nasal epithelia was everted through nostrils, an indication of sudden, massive lateral impact from a car to the lateral aspect of the chest. Ouch. Area is a mixed redwood/coast live oak woodland.
