@gregpauly two alligator lizards found on the street. They were about 1 to 1 1/2 feet apart from each other, making me think they were either about to mate or just finished/interrupted by a car or whatever hurt them. I left to go get zilplocks . When I returned, they were gone, leaving only the bloody spot in the last picture. There were a couple of ravens nearby when I first spotted them. As you suggested, maybe they were taken.
