I didn't think snakes were still out since it's been cold at night. I came across this one upside down on the road, a fresh roadkill since I didn't see it coming in. I flipped it over and got some writhing, even though it was dead. Then some car (deliberately) ran it over even though I was there taking pictures of it on this 2-lane country road. What an idiot.
