Common most likely pale red but 7/8 upper/lower labial more consistent with NW and 17 mid body, on west edge head hit bloody but intact, put in carrier on bike thinking it wouldn’t survive but an hour later was strong & could crawl straight so released it, so not a road kill; scales recounted just before release
