This was Never how I wanted to first see this elusive creature. I doubled-back over turn-offs to confirm what I thought I saw. Must have been hit early this day - still quite intact. Incredibly stressed and rare in California. I'd love to have anyone pass on these coordinates to those studying ranges on T. taxus in CA. Wished my cooler was big enough to bring it to @js_young Made me wish for better Wildlife underpass corridors in this part of California. Never have been so close to speeding 18-wheelers to get a shot - Roadkill is important, INat folks.
