Gravid female Western Fence Lizard found dead on the Backbone Trail late Saturday afternoon. She was likely run over by a mtn biker. For the past while, I have often seen gravid female Western Fence Lizards basking along these trails. Specimen and tissue sample salvaged and deposited in the Herpetology Collection of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (GBP 2377).
