Struck in last 30 minutes, no drying out of tissues, blood still leaking. Crushed, moderate damage to carcass, tail in three pieces. Snout-to-vent length was >75 mm, tail length was >230 mm. Sparse vegetation dominated by Atriplex hymenelytra (Desert holly), Larrea tridentata (Creosote), and Erigonum inflatum (Desert trumpet). Weather: 5% clouds, 2-4 mph winds, 99 degrees Fahrenheit.
