It was early afternoon on a sunny day. This was in the neighborhood where many times I have seen squirrels crossing the roads or running along the telephone wires. Many trees in this area. The roadkill did not look as if it had been run over, just hit by a passing vehicle. Or alternatively, it might have fallen from the wires above the road.
