Speed limit is 45, however there is total disregard to the speed limit. Hwy 49 through Mokelumne Hill is a constant animal migration route..though there are no signs posting that it is. I am hoping it will happen. I have witnessed a few smaller animals using drain pipes under the Hwy for crossing (skunks, raccoons, cats.)
