Carcass was being actively predated by a turkey vulture, with several more vultures off the road. This is in Point Reyes National Seashore. People drive far faster than is safe in general in the seashore.
The carcass was crushed and contorted.
While we were there, several cars came by and slowed or stopped to check on the carcass, disturbing the vulture feed.
When we returned several hours later the carcass was still there and had not been further predated.
