On Saturday, August 23, 2008, around 1930hrs, two different motorists called the Institute to report that there was a dead ram on Hwy 74 near mile marker 91 on the east side of the road. Since it was already dark, the ram was investigated the next morning at 0730hrs by Institute biologists. The dead ram was found on the southeast side of Hwy 74, around 10 ft from the road. The carcass was intact and the ram was lying on his belly with his hind legs stretched out behind him and his front legs tucked under his body. It was a 3 year old unmarked ram.
