On my morning commute - the opossum was in the middle of the eastbound lane, with bright red blood - obviously pretty fresh. This is a common roadkill stretch on this road - near where Hall Creek crosses Glendale Drive. There is a vegetated meadow next to the road with created wetland near the creek, and homes nearby.
