Broken neck with minor damage to carcass. Sparse vegetation dominated by Atriplex hymenelytra (Desert holly), Larrea tridentata (Creosote), and Erigonum inflatum (Desert trumpet). Weather: 0% cloud cover, 4-7 mph winds, 73 degrees Fahrenheit. Carcass was easily blown across road by passing motorists. There is no way to determine where it was actually struck in relation to the road. The blood on the beak was tacky. The body was warmer than the outside air temperature.
