There's some question as to whether this is a road kill, or a coyote that someone killed elsewhere and dumped here. It was about 10-15 m from the road. Carcass was pretty rotten. No clear evidence that it was hit (e.g., skin scraped off legs, etc.), or that it was shot. I'm guessing, based on location next to the road, and the fact that this is an obvious place for large mammals to cross (riparian strip rises to road level and gets very close to road) that this is a road kill.
