There have been many Eared Grebes in Lee Vining and along Hwy 395 over the past 3-4 days. Many have been rescued and re-released on Mono Lake. In the midst of a week of nightly Eared Grebe departures from Mono, difficult evening weather (rain, snow, and wind) and wet pavement (mistaken for water) have led to confused groundings.
