Observation Date / Time

This roadkill was noted when we drove past earlier in the day. A small herd of similar deer was resting in the field under fruit trees, so this may have been a young one from that herd. Upon return we chose to stop, and there was a very large bird near the animal, eating it. The bird (eagle? vulture?) flew away and even though we waited for 10-15 minutes, did not return, however the animal had been significantly devoured from when we passed it earlier. Weather was wonderful - a comfortable, warm, Fall day.
