Current weather: south breeze, clear, cool. The carcass was found in the east bound shoulder of Eight Mile Road in the right turn lane from Atherton Road north bound onto 8 Mile Road. There is a large ditch at the southeast corner of the 8 Mile and Atherton Roads. There is also a large slough west of Atherton Road. The otter probably was hit in the face or throat. The body seemed in good shape. The Google Map is incorrect, Bacon Island Road is Atherton Road.
