This is sadly a dead Thamnophis sirtalis fitchi or Valley Garter Snake, found on the gravel road to Quilcene from Mt. Zion at about 2700'. It was a beautiful snake, almost 2' long, with stripes of black, cream, and turquoise with red dots. Give the wound on its neck, I don't know if this was roadkill or if it was attacked by a predator.
