Observation Date / Time
The wren was located on the side of the northbound side of Laguna Rd. I picked it up and discovered that all of its secondary flight feathers were missing on the right wing. Looking around the impact area, I did not see any loose feathers. Possibly the wren was already compromised with flight when it tried to cross the road. Wrens fly very low to the ground anyway, adding to the likelihood of it being hit. Both sides of the road at this location are oak woodland with blackberry and other dense groundcover.
