Struck by visitor, I was called to remove the carcass from the roadway. Female, pregnant, broken pelvis, right femur, abdomen split open from anus to sternum. Abdominal contents covered ~12 square inches of the road surface. Sparse vegetation dominated by Atriplex hymenelytra (Desert holly), Larrea tridentata (Creosote), and Erigonum inflatum (Desert trumpet). Weather: 2-4 mph winds, 119 degrees Fahrenheit.
