Current weather: warm, partly cloudy, slight breeze. Grain field to the east and wet pasture on the west along with a pond. Snipe feed in the pasture. Ruderal vegetation along the road edge. Freshly killed. The bird was on the north bound lane. It was in pretty good condition except for its guts spilled out. A loggerhead shrike was feeding on it when I drove up. Road is used by local rural residents, birders, and farm equipment. Elevation is 30 feet.
