We were driving eastbound on hold on Road heading to Lake San Antonio when we saw the animal just off to the edge of the road. We stopped and went back and took a few photos amazed at the beauty of this animal. It was a male and had likely been struck just hours or minutes before as it looked very fresh. We moved it off into the bushes. That's the first Badger I've seen in California and I've lived here my whole life. I'm 52 now.

Location Description
This Badger will look like it had tried to cross the road adjacent to Fort Hunter liggett. He was struck and killed. The body was found at the edge of the paved portion of the road and we moved it off into the grass. They were fields on both sides and a half erected tent structure to the South.
